Krishna Kumar and Sreelakshmi is an awesome young couple from Fort Cochin. Sreelakshmi is a Higher Secondary School Teacher by profession and Krishna Kumar is a hotel executive having more than 20 years experience in Hotel management. Kumar is well qualified and possess rich working knowledge on the field of hospitality management having shouldered senior executive positions in various star hotels and resorts both in India and Gulf countries. This young couple, with the able and active guidance and participation of Kumar's Mother - Mrs. Shyama Nair, a housewife, besides being a well qualified beautician, together put in their best to create this wonderful cozy space in the heart of the town and yet away from the din of the city. Sometimes charming destinations like Fort Kochi struggle to shrug off some of the affability to maintain the exclusivity they might have acquired with great effort. With a home-stay springing up in every corner, and the city so inundated with travelers, one might look out for a peaceful haven in the touristy mayhem. That's when you can tuck yourself away in a quiet corner of a safe, residential area at Silverweed homestay.

Most certainly what should lure one the most is the family's background of rich culture and tradition of ancient Hindu- Nair family origin, which bring with it some fantastic culinary expertise. Shyama Nair, a whiz at typical Kerala cuisines, both Veg and Non-veg especially Aviyal, Prawns Curry etc., and marvel the most sumptuous delights of top restaurants. Be sure to try the rice Pancakes with Kadala curry and the traditional Idiyappam made in an ancient brass device, besides other typical Kerala food. The three of them ensures that the day starts with a lavish spread of South Indian breakfast as desired by the guests – better enjoyed on the wide greenery flanked terrace.

Recommended for solo travelers for safety, Silverweed is centrally located to all places of interest at Fort Kochi and yet pleasantly aloof.
